Behavioral Health Counselor

Daylyn Bhavsar-Padilla, MS, MHC-LP

A lifelong learner, Daylyn is committed to professional growth and development, participating in clinical supervision, and staying current with best practices in the mental health field. She holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Mercy University (2024), a Master of Science in Human Behavior from Capella University (2016), and a Bachelor of Science in Behavioral Science from Mercy College (2006).

Daylyn is a dedicated Mental Health Therapist specializing in providing evidence-based, trauma-informed care. With a multimodal therapeutic approach, she integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Expressive Arts Therapy (EAT), among others, to empower individuals and foster resilience. Her practice is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves person-driven care, meeting individuals where they are on their journey.

Before pursuing clinical mental health counseling, Daylyn spent 17 years working in human services in conjunction with New York City DHS in the non-profit sector, developing and implementing consumer-centered programs to address gaps in care. Her background includes forensic case management for individuals with behavioral health and chemical addictions, vocational counseling, COBRA case management, and a focus on supporting unhoused populations. This work illuminated the systemic barriers preventing individuals from accessing the care they need, which inspired her passion for mental health counseling.

Daylyn has focused on supporting individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Anxiety, Adjustment Disorder (AD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD). Her approach emphasizes personalized interventions that build resilience and foster growth, with a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive therapeutic environment for diverse populations. She particularly enjoys helping clients discover their creative sides through expressive arts, unlocking potential for self-expression and healing—even in those who doubt their creativity.

Outside of her professional life, Daylyn finds joy in crafting and home renovation, passions she developed growing up in a family carpentry business. Daylyn is also deeply committed to serving her community and beyond, running a mobile food pantry in collaboration with Feeding Westchester to address local food insecurity and partnering with Builders International to meet construction project needs worldwide. Whether designing handmade items, tackling home projects, or serving the community, she brings the same creativity and dedication to her clients as she does to her personal life.
