Behavioral Health Counselor
Lanae Petrus is a compassionate and open-minded mental health clinician with a strong commitment to supporting individuals in reaching their full potential. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology & Human Relations and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Pace University.
Lanae’s clinical philosophy is rooted in the belief that every individual possesses the innate ability to achieve personal growth and transformation. Her goal is to guide clients toward becoming the best versions of themselves by providing empathetic, evidence-based support tailored to their unique needs and experiences. Her main counseling modalities include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), which she utilizes to help clients navigate challenges and develop healthy coping mechanisms.
In addition to her work as a mental health counselor, Lanae is a certified Parent Coach specializing in working with caregivers of young children. She helps parents foster more sensitive, responsive caregiving practices, while also nurturing stronger bonds and attachments with their children. Through this work, she empowers parents to create secure and supportive environments for their children’s emotional and developmental well-being.
